Broken Windows

Here’s a billion-dollar question: Why are Windows users besieged by security exploits, but Mac users are not?
OSX PantherThe most common answer given by debunkers of the “Mac’s are invincible myth” is that Macs only covers a much smaller market share than Windows thus interpolate that with the relatively non-existence of any security exploits.
Although we have had lately a series of possible security exploits being published, it was just as fast before solutions to prevent these springs out faster than the wild flowers that bloom after a spring shower. And those weren’t even from the Mothership.

This article by John Gruber says alot about how Mac users don’t tolerate shit – and it is that kind of mindset that helps Macs to be so much fuss-free to use as compared to a Win PC.
bq. You can argue about why this is so, but you don’t need to. You can’t argue with the facts. Anti-virus software vendor Sophos reported yesterday that it found 959 new viruses, last month alone. How many of those do you think were for Mac OS X? Any at all?
If you are switching on your WinPC with trepidation, not knowing when and what will strike, not knowing when that thesis that took you months to write will be wiped off by some devious virus, then read the article by John Gruber, then head down to the nearest Apple Store to get that hardware where you only have to worry about the amount of time you spend surfing, playing games and typing that horrid thesis, with absolutely no worries about trivial issues like virus attack.
