No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

I have stared at this screen for hours and couldn’t really find the words to describe the emotions when I learnt about his passing.

And I realised that it wouldn’t be what he want us to feel.

The best way to pay tribute to the life and work of Steve Jobs, is that if you own a Mac, or an iPhone or iPad, make full use of it. We don’t need to create something that will change the world like he did, but do something.

Type your next masterpiece, or simply clear up that long awaited To-Do list. Call up a friend or email a photo to your family.

He had spent his life creating tools for us to improve our lives. Make full use of them.

Thank you and good bye, Steve.

No related posts.

You don’t need these dolphins in Resorts World Sentosa. We don’t want these dolphins in Resorts World Sentosa. Our children won’t want these dolphins in Resorts World Sentosa. Neither do their children.

Do the right thing. Let the dolphins go.

Share this link http://saddestdolphins.com/voice/voice.html if you want to help.

Or write to Resorts World Sentosa and tell them how you feel about the dolphins.

Let people around you be aware. Let them know.

No related posts.

A review of an non-existant iPad case.
No related posts.

Yes, this would have been a review of my lovely Treegloo iPad case which I bought back in April 12, if I had it with me. More than two months after ordering, I have yet to see the case, not even a delivery date.

When I ordered it back in April, they had just started getting more eyeballs on blogs and with iPad 2 launch a while back, they gained quite a fair bit of positive reviews for their superb handicraft and finishing. What’s more, there were also a fair bit of good feedback on their customer support, like responding fast on emails or even replacing cases with faults.

Multiple emails to them requesting for information on my case did get response, but with each email, the delivery date kept getting pushed back:

According to your order date (April 10th), your case should be shipping by early next week.

This was April 20.

we are small team and have been inundated with orders. We are running a little behind schedule, but your orders will be complete in a few days

That was April 29.

Sincerest apologies for the overdue response and delay in shipment. We do have your order in our queue, and will be shipping out your case as soon as possible, likely in the following week

That was May 13.

iPad1 frames are in production, and your case will be shipping between Thursday (6/9) and Saturday (6/11). Again, we do apologize for the exceedingly long delay. Thank you very much for your patience, you have been extraordinary!

That was May 30. Yes I am extraordinary.

Today is June 21.

I would have written a nice review, posted it at iHeartApple, Twitter-ed and Facebook-ed the piece, shot a few nice photographs to go with it, and maybe they would have gotten more orders from it. But unfortunately, nothing so far.

My extraordinary patience is wearing thin. I believe the guys are really hard at work but something is amiss for my case to be in the queue from April 12 till now. I don’t want to refund and cancel my order because I know they have a good product there.

So the wait continues. Let’s see when the next date they will give me.

No related posts.

It’s almost a month since I moved up the food chain in the company to become a team leader for one of the three country teams in our office. Felt honoured and at the same time apprehensive when I was invited to take up the new role.

Till date, all my jobs had me working independently or in a team, but never leading and managing a team. It had been almost twelve years since I stepped into my first office back in Far East Square as a green horn web designer. Fast forward few years, my career is like a tour of duty in the advertising world:

web designer » project executive » production manager » account manager.

I wonder where next I will be?

This new role will be a great learning experience. Managing oneself is drastically different from managing others. Hopefully, I can be like some of the awesome people I had worked under.

For now I know that I have a great team and awesome people in my company and, I will never be Ronery.
