update removed photos as they have been relocated here
Esplanade: Theatres on the Bay was finally opened last nite with literally a bang.
Was there late as I overslept…then got stuck in the Marina Sq carpark for almost 45mins…before I managed to find myself at the Waterfront.
Managed to catch some accapella singing before the official show started.
Grabbed some dinner before we went out to squeeze among the crowd to watch the fireworks at the end. The whole 30mins show brought together international acts Legs on the Wall, Théâtre de la Dame de Coeur, and Groupe F, creators of the millennium fireworks on the Eiffel Tower. Boy was the fireworks spectacular. The way it flows from one corner of Marina South to the other was beautiful. Didn’t managed to catch any decent shots of the fireworks as my arms got tired.
After that stayed awhile to catch some Australian acrobats called Acrobats. Got some nice photos out of them.
Hopefully it lives up to its promise of being a premier arts centre for the people and also pushes arts in Singapore to a new level. And hopefully we get to sing there next year!
