“The iTunes Music Store has revolutionized the way people legally buy music online, and now it’s available to tens of millions more music lovers with iTunes for Windows”Yeps, your eyes not deceiving you. That’s iTunes on a WinXP desktop. iTunes for Windows was just announced by Steve Job with some other iPod and iTMS enhancements.
iTunes for Windows works exactly like the ones we are all familiar with. Its free for download now and also allows you to sync with iPod on your PC. As for iPod, there are new accessories from Belkin that allows you to do voice recording and also a media reader that allows you to import data from your memory card to your iPod.
BUT, all these only work with the 3G iPods. So, well, no such toys for me. I’m still using my first gen 5Gb iPod. So for you guys who are using the 3G iPods, do get the firmware update.
iTMS – iTunes Music Store – has been updated with more songs, and also added Audiobooks to its offerings. Besides that, there’s also gift certificates and allowances which you can purchase to be given to others for downloading the songs.
Another BUT … itms still only works if you have a credit card with an address in the US. Any idea whether one outside the US can get a credit card in there?
Well the biggest news today I guess is the launch of iTunes for Windows, a massive massive step by Apple. This will allow iTMS to be available for PC users which well, will be a massive revenue source for Apple. Its also the first major crossover product by Apple on the Windows platform. A sign of things to come perhaps?
