Married Life #1

Yes I know I’m 3 years and 8 days late but hey, it’s never too late to write about being married. And yes, I am “inspired” by her series of Married Life posts, but why not?

So there we were in our living room last Tuesday, me sprawled over the sofa catching up on the latest sports news, while she was behind her desk, probably Sim Socialising, when I overheard a phone call she was making…

She: Yes can I confirm my dinner reservation this Friday at xxx xxx….oh thank you.

Me: Are we having dinner out?

She: Oh shit. I forgot. I am meeting the cousins to celebrate XXX’s birthday. I just didn’t connect that to our discussion about dinner plans for the rest of the week.

Me: AGAIN?

Some background. Not the first time that her dinner plans with others were conveniently left out in our conversations.

She: But, today’s only Tuesday. Not Thursday. And nowadays my preggy mind

Me: Still?????

She: But you can come home and play Gears of War 3 the whole night.

Me: Oh. Fine.

Married life is about compromises. A probably sumptuous dinner missed, replaced by couple of hours killing Lambents and Locuses. Not too shabby.

PS: That is not me in drag in the photo above. I look better in a dress.
