Cool, we finally have a face from Apple SG that we can look for.
Computertimes talked to the new Apple SG GM, Edward Fun on his appointment.
According to the interview, Mr Fun, as a Mac-convert, wants to convince the world – in particular, the Windows world – of the Mac goodness.
Sounds all jolly and good! But how bout existing users? I wonder whether he reads local Mac community websites like mean or MUGS and is aware of some of the issues regarding after-sales services provided by authorised apple centres.
I remember when I first joined MUGS years back, we had our meetings at the AMK Apple Service Centre, which I initially thought was owned by Apple. Well, back then, I thought MUGS was kindda associated and had pretty good support from Apple SG, but well, which isn’t really true.
What would be good for Mr Fun, besides trying to extend the Mac user base in Singapore, but also look into enhancing the services for existing users. As the article mentioned, we users of Macs are loyal to the brand and to the company. It would be a waste if one were to turn its back on Apple because of bad experiences at those Apple Centres.
