This poor fella who had the shock of his life when he brought his family to Sentosa for a day tour which made him felt liked he had visited a pig sty!
Isn’t it an unspoken knowledge that locals no longer visit Sentosa, except the young and full-bodied, well tanned and wearing only strings — travel across to Silosa Beach to play balls … i meant volleyballs.
The place is tour-agent haven…for them to skim off clueless tourists who wants to have a bit of sun and look at the history of Singapore, or learn about legendary sea dragons and mythical mermaids within the innards of the 37m high monstrosity called Merlion.
The food is expensive, the tickets too all the major attractions are expensive. The last time i’ve been there was to go to the beach, with my own food and drinks. Unfortunately, I didn’t go there to play volleyball.
bq.. The final insult was when my wife was told by the cloakroom attendant that no liquid soap was available to wash her hands but when she demanded to speak to the supervisor, the soap receptacle was hurriedly filled with very diluted liquid soap.
As we hurriedly left, I told the catering manager the cafeteria was nothing more than a pig sty, to which he shrugged his shoulders and continued to talk to the cashier.
We left Sentosa after no more than three hours, vowing never to return. My next trip? Tourist attractions in Indonesia or Malaysia; at least the service and standard of hygiene are better – and always provided with a smile.

isn’t it uncanny how most soap containers as well hand towel holders are empty.
is it because of the punitive nature of our society that we react to those that knowingly take more than needed handtowels for use at home by not placing any in the holders.
or is it becuase we just install them and find it too costly to replace the towels so we leave them empty.
either way, it speaks terribly of our manners.
we treat each other terribly and only until the threat of seeking a higher up to resolve an issue is something done. will it not be all that more painless if we just replaced the containers?
makes me wonder, is there another reason?
are these employees totally lacking in pride that they do not see the need to do a good job regardless of the task?
or is it because the term professionals only reserved for a few jobs.
many societies see professionalism in every job.
might this be the reason for the poor service etc… that existed at sentosa?
